Training, qualifications and experience
I am a fully qualified counsellor, having completed my DipHE in Counselling with Waverley Abbey College in June 2022. This training has complemented and built upon many years of experience of working with people in need, following my previous roles with Kent Police, and more recently within Private Healthcare. These experiences, have given me a real passion for caring for people, and an understanding of the value that can be found in providing a safe space for someone, that is encouraging, supportive and non-judgemental.
I am a member of the Association of Christians in Counselling, and therefore adhere to their ethics and values. I also receive regular supervision for my work, and ensure that my skills and knowledge are kept up to date through continued professional development.
About the way I work
I am an integrative counsellor, but one who mainly works in a person-centred approach, believing that each client has the potential to reach their goals, if provided with the right therapeutic conditions. I have a heart for hearing each individual’s unique life story, and feel passionate about the power of being truly heard. I also enjoy and have experienced the benefit of working creatively with clients. Creativity within the counselling context allows thoughts and feelings to be explored through a different lens, which can be really helpful for some clients.
