Training, qualifications and experience

I trained at Waverley Abbey College and qualified with a HE Diploma in counselling in June 2025 (validated by Middlesex University).

In my private practice, I am also an accredited life coach. As a former teacher and nurse, and with time spent living in Africa, as well as my own journey through hard times, I have had a wide variety of life experiences.

About the way I work

I work integratively, drawing on different counselling and coaching approaches, including CBT, Gestalt, Transactional Analysis, person-centred and Solution-Focused therapy, in order to ensure I am using a style that suits my clients' individual needs. I use a variety of different interventions, as well as using creativity.

I do not offer advice, but instead, work alongside you, collaboratively, helping you to find your own way through. I believe it is essential to work holistically and empathically, guiding as you navigate life's challenges or work towards a particular goal.

Life can sometimes be incredibly tough, whether it be day to day stuff that grinds us down, or a sudden and shocking life event. I am passionate about ensuring clients feel safe, seen and their story truly heard.

My areas of special interest include bereavement, loss, confidence and self-worth, life transitions, anxiety and depression.

I am a member of the BACP and adhere to their ethical code.
